Films For Cause

Project Goal

Due to the lure of the drug trade, our goal is to raise awareness and support toward the harrowing situation the street children currently face in the Favelas of Brazil.

Project Summary

Our film will help draw much-needed attention to the Brazilian children who struggle daily amidst the ravages of the drug trade within the shantytowns. Furthermore, by working with Cause & Affect, we will raise funds, on-line, (via YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) both pre- and post-project, as a call-to-action, enabling active participation and donor involvement in the cause and thereby creating a catalyst for more long-term solutions.

In Brazil, we will spotlight the work of community-based projects that have proven successful in saving kids lives by persuading them away from drug trafficking.

For instance:

(1) Highlighting the trans formative power of local organizations that have created safe havens, organized sports, engaging music projects, & healing through art to help rehabilitate these children entrenched in these shantytowns.

(2) Revealing the most effective way to support these projects, which is by embracing the effective “micro-philanthropy model” applied by Cause & Affect for years.

The difference:

1) We are eager to disseminate this film in order to capture the dire needs on the ground in Brazil’s shantytowns & thereby inspire people to action. Our goal is to continue to do so with other aid organizations, helping vulnerable citizens in various other countries, thereby broadening our own understanding & that of our audience.

2) We have a cohesive team of like-minded, yet diverse & compassionate men and women, bringing their individual strengths and practical on-the-ground experiences to the project as characters in this reality film.

Since the film will be shot & completed prior to funding, the grant will be used for post-production, outreach and advertising. These funds will allow for better editing equipment & talented editors. We will raise awareness toward this cause as well as our film, with a comprehensive web page, social networking, ads and banners, open source networking, & Internet. In addition, we will also have planned events & awareness campaigns centered around the film and its project. We will also use more conventional forms of advertisement and engagement, for intance slogan t-shirts. The funding and its use will launch Films For Cause – Brazil as a flagship for many similar & inspiring projects to come.
